The frame
I chose a wooden frame (Okoumé) as a sustainabile material. Even if it's not very usual for bicycles, the wood has been widely used in the cycling area. With today's processing techniques and tools the wood can become a high quality material with exceptional performance. The visual impact was an important part of the project, the frame had to be elegantly sleek. Performance related, I aimed for a balance between flexibility and resistance. The geometry is a mix between single speed/fixies and road bikes.
With this project I attended several design exhibits in Bucharest.
